The One Flower Photography Tip a Leading Trade Mag Forgot

Today, I read an pretty good article in a major photo hobbyist magazine on shooting compelling pix of flowers. (As some of you may know, I've been known to channel my inner Georgia O'Keeffe from time to time.)

What I particularly liked about the article was a comment that you don't need all kinds of special equipment to take outstanding flower pix. I also liked his suggestion on creating unexpected compositions by backlighting petals.

However, I was saddened by other comments about best places to buy flowers and how to arrange picked flowers on light boxes to achieve interesting lighting effects.

Please, please, please... if you can, please leave your flowers ***in the ground*** when you shoot them so that others can enjoy them after you're done.

Whether you're shooting in black-and-whte or color, please always think "green."
