New Work: Kiwanis Carnival (Concord, NH)

Two pictures of my favorite ride:

Don't forget the "you gotta see it to believe it" shots:

And why not black-and-white?

Here's the "recipe" for shooting carnival rides at night:

  • Manual exposure
  • Turn off your flash!
  • ISO 100 (you'll be using a tripod and you won't have to deal with "noise")
  • Aperture setting: 22 or 29
  • Shutter speed: 2 to 8 seconds (play around with it!)
  • Sturdy tripod
  • Remote shutter release (so you don't shake the tripod)
