Final front. It's fascinating how different this looks from the inspiration photo. (It's also a lot more whimsical...)
Detail of decoupage: vintage corset advertising illustrations. (Interestingly, the non-hourglass shape was ID'ed as "the ideal female shape." I liked it because the so-called "ideal" woman's torso angle looked like mine. Interesting how much tastes change over the decades....)
Yup, that really is a pencil eraser. (There are nearly three dozen more inside the torso, to cushion the points of numeorus thumbtacks I used.
Final back. (Again, this is very different than the inspiration photo.)
Detail of tag. Inside of "stencil" is same dressmaker pattern used on inside.
Detail of corset lacing.
UPDATE: On September 21, 2012, I was asked if I would loan this torso to Dartmouth-Hitchcock in Lebanon for inclusion in an upcoming art show from November 2012 - January 2013 to rais eawarness of breast cancer. (I suppose just in case someone's been living under a rock for months and hasn't seen enough "pink" all October or attended the NHWBA's upcoming CLE on breast cancer advocacy.)
