"1 in 8 :The Torso Project", Day 2

Here's today's progress. (It's still a long way from being complete...)

 

Above:Painting the inside.I love how the inside looks heart-shaped.

 

Above:Decoupaging the inside with a sewing pattern after the gold paint dries.

 

Above: The artist at work. (Yes, she paints, too!)

 

Above: Detail of sponging.

 

Above: Guess who was the only one not done? Look at what my new friends did, too. As one participant so aptly put it, "We went from lab specimens to works of art..."

After I got home:

Above: I gluegunned some silver ribbon to the inside of the torso, in honor of my new friend Evelyn, who added fabric to the inside her plaster torso.
