After a restful July 4 weekend on Springfield, VT, we took the "scenic route" home. Along the way, we discovered the wonderful Taylor Farm, where we enjoyed some Maple Walnut ice cream (It IS Vermont, after all...) and oogled the specialty cheeses. The operators generously allow all their visitors to take a self-guided tour of the facilities and observe sustainable agricultural practices. Stop by if you get the chance: it's worth the ride.
