Just couldn't resist:

We just spent a weekend in the Jamestown, RI Area. The typical "place" pictures (lighthouses, beaches, etc.) didn't interest me at all, but the wall details did:

After a restful July 4 weekend on Springfield, VT, we took the "scenic route" home. Along the way, we discovered the wonderful Taylor Farm, where we enjoyed some Maple Walnut ice cream (It IS Vermont, after all...) and oogled the specialty cheeses. The operators generously allow all their visitors to take a self-guided tour of the facilities and observe sustainable agricultural practices. Stop by if you get the chance: it's worth the ride.
The earth speaks to my husband, an avid hiker, in ways that it does not to me. Today, we explored a small recreational park near the Brookfield hydroelectric plant near the Maine/NH border. This is my attempt to see the area through his eyes. I hope I did him proud:
The following pix are part of an impromptu followup project to the collection of photographic images taken late fall 2015 around Mount Chocorua (New Hampshire):
The photos were so impromptu that the camera battery wasn't even working when we left the house today. We charged it in the car during the ride up north, as I decided last-minute to bring the camera along "just in case we stop somewhere interesting.")
TAKE-AWAY POINT (other than "keep the battery charged at all times"): Consider shooting the same location at different times of the year, to document a fuller effect of season changes. While a picture may be worth a thousand words, it doesn't always tell the whole story by itself.
Happy New Year!
